Being a Generous Church . . .

July 23, 2014

. . . isn’t always about money. It can be about how we share our churches. Peter Brooks, Vicar of the Three Cliffs Benefice, says, “Recently I was challenged to think of generosity in terms of opening our church doors to the public during the summer months for them to see the treasures we have inside.” If you are in Gower this summer you will find these beautiful churches open during the day throughout the week: St John’s Penmaen, St. Mary’s Pennard and St. Illtyd’s Ilston. In addition St Nicholas’ in Nicholaston will be open on Saturdays providing the opportunity to view its church registers. Open churches offer a genuine and generous welcome. These Gower churches, in their beautiful surroundings give both a chance to glimpse the treasures within and also quiet space for reflection and prayer. If you want to know more about this project, or how to open up your local church, you can call Peter on 01792 232928 or contact him by email at You can also visit the church website here or find us on Facebook by search for 'Three Cliffs Parish'.
