GATHERING: Families get together for a Saturday of fun in the Cathedral

October 10, 2014

Children from all over the diocese gathered in the Cathedral at Brecon for our annual families fun day. The event began with a warm welcome from the Dean and lively worship (lots of action songs). As always, the day was full of engaging events. There were imaginative things to make and do, parachute games, a bouncy castle and amazing face painting. In fact the cathedral became populated by butterflies, fairies, puppies and even the Incredible Hulk! The highlight of the day was a series of activities centred round Anna Bessants glass quilt, housed in its own yurt. Anna and her team held a number of activities including storytelling, a short pilgrimage with music and writing prayers on parcel labels to join those already collected on the quilt’s journey round Wales. Liz Kirlew, the Bishop’s Officer for Children and Families sends her thanks go to everyone who helped both on the day and during the preparation.
