Llwynderw Messy Church for Lent

March 18, 2014

After a shopping trip to Lee Mill Fabrics for the material and The Range in Trallwn for lots of funky foam, we were ready to produce a mosaic style altar frontal for Holy Cross Church. When the children from Mayals school arrived for Messy Church after school on Thursday 13th March a number decided to start with the border design using three different colours. Later different colours were chosen for the three crosses in the centre of the frontal. We used a glue gun to stick the funky foam pieces to the cloth and this took some time! After the children have worked on the crafts in the hall, a short worship took place in the church with a couple of songs. Many thanks to all who helped produce this impressive work of art which is now on display until Easter. The monthly Messy Church events at Holy Cross can attract between 25 and 40 children of all ages. The next time we meet is on Good Friday from 10 am.
